Who is eligible to apply?Ans. To be selected, applicant must meet the following criteria. Applicant must be a college graduate, or active youth leader aged 18- 35 years, Applicant must be a resident of an African countryApplicant must demonstrate a high level of interest in politics, leadership and community service, Applicant must demonstrate commitment to learning and sharing their knowledge and skills with others Applicant must demonstrate commitment to implementing practicum/follow up events and actively engage in networking and the YPLS Africa Alumni Association, Applicant must have the ability to communicate clearly and be proficient in reading and writing English. Youth activists, young politicians or political candidates, student leaders, women, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Can I submit a paper copy of my application?Ans. No, you must submit your application through the online application system. Paper applications, or applications by email attachment, will not be accepted.

I have multiple email addresses, including some for personal use and some for my work. Which one(s) should I use for my application?"Ans. You should use the email address (es) that you access most frequently and which can be accessed from any internet connection. Work email addresses that cannot be accessed outside your office are not recommended.

I have a physical disability or special need and I need another person’s assistance to complete my application. Is this considered plagiarism?Ans. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Applicants with physical disabilities or special needs who require another person’s assistance to complete an application may do so. However, the thoughts, ideas, and content of their application must be their own; they cannot collaborate with the person assisting them on the content of their application.

What expenses are not covered by the program?All international participants will be responsible for their travel and accommodation while in Liberia.

If I am selected, what will be the program benefit?"Fellows will enjoy ongoing support, mentorship and coaching throughout the program. Fellows will gain experience, new skills and build networks that will be useful in their professional growth. Fellows will receive a certificate of completion, branded t-shirts, bags, and other training materials. Fellows will receive Personal Leadership Development Plan Meals and local transportation costs for international students will be provided during the five-day training in Liberia as well as lunch for all participants.

Where does the YPLSA Program take place ?Ans. The YPLSA Program take place in Monrovia, Liberia.
