The Program Manager of the Young Political Leadership School Africa (YPLSA), Ms. Alphia Faith Kemokai has been named by USAID/Liberia Development Award 2023 as Youth of the Year.

Her advocacy, sensitization, and resonating with the voices of young people both in Liberia and around the world made her stand out from among youth organizations.

Her instrumentality has ensured the Young Political Leadership School Africa's prominence in Liberia and other parts of Africa through her coordination of activities.

She dedicated the award to every young person who strives to build their capacity to contribute to national development, particularly alumni of the Young Political Leadership School Africa. “Throughout our efforts in participatory peace processes”, she lamented, “this award is our reward for striving for excellence in leadership and governance”.

Furthermore, she expressed her gratitude to the Naymote-Liberia team, particularly her boss, Mr. Eddie D. Jarwolo, whose vision and inspiration enabled her to accomplish what she did today, "You are indeed a transformational leader”.

The awardee  did not forget the prayers and support of her family. "I've come this far through faith, all glory to God Almighty." I am grateful to the agency that nominated me for this award, as well as my diplomatic professional network for their unwavering support and encouragement.
