YPLS Africa to Host Regional Dialogue in Commemoration of International Day of Democracy

The Young Political Leadership School Africa Alumni and participants of Cohort VII will join thousands around the world on 15 September to celebrate the International Day of Democracy—with the purpose of promoting and upholding the principles of democracy—and to raise public awareness to defend democracy as the best form of governance.

Several exceptional speakers and change makers will speak at the International Day of Democracy Forum. Liberia will be represented by Millias Z. Sheriff, Asst. Minister, TVET at Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Vice Chairman for Planning, Policy & Programs, Congress for Democratic Change Youth League.

Zimbabwe will be represented by Netsai Marova, Movement for Democratic Change Alliance, National Youth Deputy Organizing Secretary, Nigeria will be represented by Godbless Otubure the Global President, Ready to Lead and Idorenyin Moses, the Founder of Acceleration Hub Africa and Togo will be represented by Philippe Plagbe, Human Rights Officer at the Documentation and Training Center for Human Rights. These are all members of the Young Political Leadership Africa family.

International Day of Democracy 2020 will be celebrated under the Theme: Democracy is the freedom to express one-self, expression to one’s thoughts and feelings.

It is the freedom to stand up for one’s view and opinions and choose the right perspectives over the wrong ones.
